What you'll need
- Hario V60 brewer
- Grinder
- Scale
- Gooseneck kettle
- Server
- Filtered water
- Nuddy Coffee
STEP 1
Boil a kettle of filtered water.
The ideal water temperature is between 92 and 94 degrees celsius. If you have a regular kettle, bring it to boil and then leave it to sit for a few minutes whilst grinding your coffee.
STEP 2
Rinse the paper filter.
Place a paper filter into the V60 brewer and rinse it with hot water. Rinsing the filter will remove the “papery” taste as well as preheating the brewer and the server.
STEP 3
Place the brewer and the server on a scale and tare to zero.
Make sure to discard the water that was used during the rinsing process.
STEP 4
Add 15g of ground coffee on the V60 brewer.
The grind size should be a similar size to course table salt. Freshly ground coffee always tastes the best!
STEP 5
Pour 50g of hot water.
Pour gently over all of the coffee ground. Leave it for 15-30 seconds to allow it to bloom.
STEP 6
Stir gently.
Give it a gentle stir so all the coffee grind is nice and wet.
STEP 7
Pour a further 200g of hot water using a circular motion.
For the best results, separate the pour in 3-4 times to keep the water level above the coffee bed.
STEP 8
Let it drip until it’s finished.
Make sure the water is drained from the coffee bed completely. This should take 2 to 3 minutes.
Tip: If it’s taking longer than expected, coarsen the grind next time. If it’s running short, go finer.
Enjoy!
